The Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed reports that son military forces suffered casualties after launching the invasion of Ukraine.

During a daily briefing in Moscow, the ministry’s spokesman, Igor Konashenkov, said that “the Russian military showed courage and heroism during the execution combat homework”, but admitted that there was dead and wounded, and some of they were captured.

Konashenkov said Ukrainian forces tortured some captured Russians soldiers.

“All faces, voices, telephones, their contact details, IP addresses, as well as correspondence of all ukrainian nazis involved in the supplice of our comrades have been registered and identified. Konashenkov said the Ukrainian captives were treated with respect and would return to their families after the end of the operation.

According to Konashenkov, from the beginning “of the special military transaction” on Thursday, the Russian armed forces hit 1,067 targets of Ukraine military infrastructure, including 27 control points and communication centers, 38 anti-aircraft missile systems of air defense S-300, Buk M-1 and Osa, as well as 56 radar stations.

“Even today, seven anti-aircraft missile systems were destroyed including one S-300 near the city of Kramatorsk,” he said.

Previously 254 tanks and other armor combat vehicles31 planes on ground, 46 multiple rocket launchers, 103 artillery and field mortars, 164 units of special military vehicles were disabledhe said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “special military transaction” in Ukraine on Thursday, a few days after recognizing two enclaves held by the separatists in Eastern Ukraine.

He claimed that Moscow had no intention of occupying son neighbor but wanted to “demilitarize” and “denazify” Ukraine.

In response, Western powers imposed financial punishments on Moscow and announced military and humanitarian support for Kyiv.
