After conducting a military operation with Chechen troops, Russian troops won the battle at the Azot plant and entered the strategic city of Severodonetsk in the Luhansk region.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the separatists had completely liberated the cities of Severodonetsk and Borovskoye from Ukrainian troops with the support of the Russian army.
The ministry also indicated that the cities of Voronovo and Sirotino have been liberated, which means that control has been established over all areas on the northern bank of the Seversky Donets River.
The mayor of Severodonetsk Oleksandr Stryuk has confirmed that the city, located in Donbass in eastern Ukraine, is entirely in the hands of the Russians.
“The Russians are occupying the whole city,” he told Ukrainian television in the afternoon.
Strueck added that civilians have begun to leave the nitrogen plant, where hundreds of people have taken shelter in recent days to avoid bombing.
He also added that these people lived in shelters and lower layers for about three months, stressing that they now need medical and psychological help, according to him.
This happened after Russia announced the evacuation of 800 civilians from the besieged Azot plant in the city of Leshchansk, after Ukrainian troops left the cities of Severodonetsk and Lesishansk in the direction of Seversk in small groups.
