The Russian embassy in Washington said that the introduction of new sanctions against Russia would be counterproductive and would not allow the American side to achieve its goals.
The embassy said in a statement that the improvement in the exchange rate of the ruble indicates the stability of the financial sector and the Russian economy.
The embassy added: “We have taken note of statements by US officials about possible plans to tighten sanctions against our country. We recommend that America’s ruling circles direct their irrepressible energy to solving problems in the United States itself.”
And the RT Arabia website quoted the embassy as saying that “local US officials acknowledge that anti-Russian sanctions in the energy sector will lead to instability in the hydrocarbon market and increase the cost of fuel.”
The Russian embassy called on the American side to abandon such a “fruitless path” that could lead to unfavorable results.
The embassy stressed that Russia “will continue to fulfill the tasks set during the special military operation” in Ukraine.
