Russia military noted on Monday that troops and border guards prevented a “diversionary reconnaissance” group to cross the Russian border from Ukrainian territory and that five people had been killed, russian news reported agencies.
Ukraine rejected the report, calling it fake news, and said no force Ukrainian was not present in the Rostov region where the incident allegedly took place place.
Interfax quoted Russian military as saying that the armed Ukrainians vehicles has been destroyed.
The reported incident took place at some point of extreme tension between the two countries as Russia continues to deny claims by the United States and its allies that it could invade Ukraine at any time.
