US President Joe Biden has urged Russia to step back from the edge of war on on Tuesday and said reports that Russia withdrew some forces from Ukraine’s border have not been verified.

“To the citizens of Russia: you are not our enemy and I don’t believe you want a bloody and destructive war against Ukraine,” Biden said. in nationally televised remarks from the White House.

Biden said the United States “is not looking for a direct confrontation with Russia” but that if Russia were to attack Americans in Ukraine, “We will respond with force.”

Biden said the United States and its NATO allies are ready for whatever he arrive and that Russia will pay a heavy economic price price if Moscow launches a invasion.

He said a Russian attack on Ukraine remains a possibility and reports that some Russian forces may have moved away from the Ukrainian border have yet to be verified by Washington.

“We are ready to respond decisively to a Russian call attack on Ukraine, which remains quite a possibility,” Biden.

“Nord Stream 2 will not happen if Russia invades Ukraine further. We will take a long-term punishments on Russia if it moves in direction of invasion”, the American president also warned.
