The work of the course was devoted to several topics, primarily space, where His Excellency the Director General of the Saudi Space Authority, Dr. Muhammad bin Saud Al-Tamimi, and the President of the Italian Space Agency, Giorgio Sacuccia, took part in a speech on the most important strategic directions of the two countries in the space field .
A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Saudi Arabian Space Authority and the Italian Space Agency on the peaceful use of outer space.
The memorandum was signed by the Director General, Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al Tamimi, and on behalf of the Italian Space Agency, by the head of the Agency, Mr. Giorgio Sacuccia.
The memorandum aims to develop bilateral cooperation between the two parties in capacity building in the field of space science and technology, as well as to increase the role of scientific missions and manned flight programs, as well as to develop cooperation in the field of Earth observation, space data applications and the manufacture and launch of satellites.
The signing of this memorandum comes as part of the efforts of the Saudi Arabian Space Authority to localize technologies and industries, as well as to ensure the sustainability of quality space systems in the Kingdom in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the Kingdom’s desire to develop the space sector and its technologies.
It is noteworthy that the memorandum of understanding signed between the Saudi Arabian Space Authority and the Italian Space Agency is a continuation of the joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields and sectors, which will strengthen the role of economic and technical space. sectors and the status of the two countries at the regional and international levels.
