The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has joined the countries hosting the MotoGP World Championship races in the coming period.
Dorna, owner of the commercial rights to the MotoGP World Championship, announced on Monday that it had signed a memorandum of intent to host one of the championship’s races in Saudi Arabia in the future.
The company said in a statement that the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in the future will take place on a newly built multi-purpose track, with no location specified.”
The MotoGP World Championship has been held in the region since 2004, with Qatar hosting a night Grand Prix race.
Dorna said the partnership will also provide a new program to develop promising young driver talent in Saudi Arabia to prepare future champions.
