Saudi Arabia Cycling Federation and Abarca Sports today of Spain (Movistar cycling team) signed a cooperation agreement in the presence of Saudi Arabia Cycling Federation President Abdullah Al Watlan, Abarca Sports President and Movistar Team General Manager. Eusebio Onzue.
The agreement aims to develop technical staff, increase cooperation in training programs, share experiences, hold periodic workshops, support events, races and events in the Kingdom for many years to come, as well as to jointly develop cycling projects at all levels.
The Movistar team began its professional cycling career in 1980 as the oldest and most successful (43 years) team on the ITU World Tour, featuring some of the best male-female cyclists.
The team took first place in the world rankings in 1992, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. In 2018, the Movistar women’s team was created, which has become one of the best women’s cycling teams in the world and won the Tour de France. and Giro Italia (Giro Italy) and Vuelta Españ (Volta Spain) in 2022, in addition, the team has been recognized worldwide as a leader in sustainability among cyclists (cyclists) and as an innovator in the use of technology and big data to increase competitiveness cyclists.
