Activists on the social networking site “Twitter” circulated a video clip documenting the drift of several people due to the strength of the waves in the Mughsail area in the province of Dhofar in the Sultanate of Oman and their fall into the sea.
The Royal Oman Police, in a tweet on their Twitter page, said the drifters are an Asian family of 5, including 3 children, and that the accident happened after the family crossed a safety barrier on a rocky cliff. The Oman Police Twitter account has issued warnings, especially to tourists, urging them not to stand close to the rocky cliffs adjacent to the sea when visiting Dhofar province, lest they be washed away by strong waves.
