Syrian President Bashar al-Assad arrived in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday on an official visit, accompanied by his wife, Ms. Asma al-Assad, the Emirates news agency WAM reported.
WAM stated that UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was at the forefront of my reception of Bashar Al-Assad upon my arrival at the presidential airport in Abu Dhabi. Upon entering UAE airspace, the Syrian President’s plane was escorted by military aircraft, welcoming his visit. President al-Assad held an official reception ceremony upon the arrival of his convoy at Qasr al-Watan, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed escorted the guest president to the podium where the Syrian national anthem was played while artillery fired 21 rounds and an honor guard team lined up to greet him.
