China disclosed through official media the reason for expelling the former president from the closing ceremony of the Communist Party Congress in this way on Saturday, sparking controversy in various media.
“Hu Jintao insisted on attending the closing ceremony even though he needed time to fully recover,” the new Chinese news agency reported on the social media site Twitter.
She added: “When he felt unwell during the session, his team took him to the next room to rest … Now he is in much better condition.”
And earlier on Saturday, the media reported what they described as an “extraordinary incident at a carefully orchestrated meeting” in which former President Hu Jintao was taken outside in what appeared to be coercion from the hall.
