Sudan Raises Gasoline Prices, Hamdati Confirms We Will Leave Government to Civilians

Yesterday, Sudan’s Oil Ministry announced in a statement that Sudan’s gasoline prices will increase by 90 Sudanese pounds per liter to 760 pounds ($1.34) per liter, and diesel fuel by 108 pounds to 748 pounds per liter.

The ministry explained that the fuel pricing came about following a review conducted by the ministry with free and private import companies in light of changes taking place in the global fuel market.

In addition, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedty), Vice Chairman of the Sovereign Council of Sudan, said in a political statement: “We have decided to leave the issue of administration to the civilians and have the regular forces devote themselves to fulfilling their duties.”

Daglo said in a statement released by the Sudanese News Agency: “I am writing to you today as our country is going through crises that are the most dangerous in its modern national history, crises that threaten its unity, security, security and social fabric, and impose on all us an honest and sincere stance towards ourselves and bear national and moral responsibility.”

He added that “the spread of tribal conflicts throughout the country and the bloodshed without regard for the sanctity of the soul and the growing voices of hatred and racism will inevitably lead the country to a collapse, of which we will not and will not be a part.” to remain silent or generally silent about those who threaten this country and its people.”
