The heated letter that Meghan McCain, a former co-host on The View, released on her website voicing her frustrations from her time spent on the daytime talk show prompted a response from Sunny Hostin.
On the Watch What Happens Live episode that Hostin was appearing on to promote her new book Summer on the Bluffs: A Novel, a viewer asked her for her thoughts on McCain’s column.
“Oh, let me have a drink. What exactly am I supposed to say? I have not read the column. I am aware of that, and I think that our program is a beautiful place to be,” Hostin remarked. “I am pleased to announce that our talk show is number one nationwide. It takes me by surprise that she will write about the book.
The actress said, “I know that her husband, Ben Domenech, likes to say mean things about me on Twitter, which is shocking, but Meghan and I have always been friends, and I don’t think she’s doing TV anymore.”
Hostin recommended McCain for a role on one of the Real Housewives franchises, requesting the show’s presenter Andy Cohen to employ her for “The Real Housewives of Potomac” or “any of them.”
“I hope everything works out for her,” Hostin continued. “We’re really happy on the show and a cohesive group. We pray that God blesses us!”

Cohen contributes to producing The Real Housewives franchise as an executive producer. McCain has been very vocal about how much she likes the format, and she frequently discusses other Bravo series on her Twitter account.
In a column she wrote for the Daily Mail not long ago, McCain expressed her dissatisfaction with The View and said she would never work for ABC again.
“To make it through that show, you must act like vanilla pudding.” McCain stated in her column: “Say nothing controversial with the elites, bow down, and don’t do the job you were hired to do, which is voiced your authentic opinions.”
