The Saudi Arabian Yoga Committee has announced a number of initiatives to support and develop yoga in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
On June 21, in celebration of International Day of Yoga, the committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports, launched its own page on the Nafis platform to encourage investment in the yoga industry, which has a global market share of $88 billion in 2022 and is expected to reach $215 billion. by 2025. By opening gyms, academies and institutes for the rehabilitation of yoga instructors, which facilitate the work of investors by clarifying all requirements and quickly issuing licenses for yoga halls and centers.
The head of the Saudi Yoga Committee, Nouf Al-Maruei, confirmed that the committee aims to increase the number of yoga centers and gyms in all cities of the Kingdom in order to make it easier for many members of society to access and practice this sport. as these services and centers are currently located only in large cities, noting in this regard the demand for great people in the field of yoga in various regions of the Kingdom.
As part of its sports support initiatives, the Saudi Yoga Committee on the occasion of International Yoga Day launched the first of its kind yoga competition in the Kingdom, which aims to create a base for professionals in the sport in the Kingdom to expand the concept of their championships and competitions. The Saudi Yoga Committee has collaborated with international organizations such as the Asian Professional Yoga Federation and the International Yoga Federation. Professionalism for hosting tournaments at the local, regional and international levels.
The Saudi Arabian Yoga Committee also participated in the Indian Embassy Ceremony as part of the celebration of International Yoga Day. In addition, the Committee began its celebrations from March 2022, responding to the invitation of the Morarji Desai National Yoga Center under the leadership of the Ministry of Yoga of India to join the 100 day countdown campaign. until the International Day of Yoga, seminars and virtual scientific lectures on yoga.
The Saudi Arabia Yoga Committee also participated in the Virtual International Professional Yoga Championship organized by the International Yoga Council in collaboration with the International Federation of Professional Yoga and the Asian Federation of Professional Yoga; In honor of International Yoga Day.
