Taliban suspends Sweden’s activities in Afghanistan
Yesterday, the Taliban announced the suspension of Sweden’s activities in Afghanistan in response to the burning of the Koran in Stockholm. The movement said in a statement released by its spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid on Twitter: “After insulting the Holy Quran and the Islamic faith in Sweden, the Islamic Emirate is suspending Sweden’s activities in Afghanistan.”
She added that the comment continues “until Sweden apologizes to Muslims for this heinous act.”
The movement called on “relevant organizations of the International Energy Agency to comply with this directive.”
The Taliban (an organization subject to UN sanctions) concluded its statement by saying: “Given Sweden’s brazen behavior, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan wants other Islamic countries to reconsider their engagement with this country.”
On June 28, an Iraqi national living in Sweden, Silvan Momika (37), trampled on the Holy Book of Muslims and set fire to several of its pages in front of the Stockholm Central Mosque after the police granted him permission to do so in accordance with a court decision that caused a wave of condemnation and condemnation that swept the Arab and Islamic worlds.
