On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sports, His Excellency Deputy Minister of Sports Badr bin Abdulrahman Al Qadi led the Kingdom’s delegation to the meetings of the 45th session of the Arab Youth Council. and Ministers of Sports, held today in Cairo.
At the end of today’s 45th session, the Council elected its executive body for the next four years, led by Egypt, as well as members: Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, Palestine, Kuwait and Libya.
The Council approved draft resolutions submitted by the Executive Office, which included the establishment of the Arab Festival of Women’s Sports in Algiers in 2022, the organization of a conference in support of Al-Quds Al-Sharif in Palestine, and a meeting on legislation. and sports regulations in the occupied State of Palestine this year.
The Council of Ministers also approved the theme of the 2023 Arab Youth Excellence Award “Artificial Intelligence” and endorsed Egypt’s proposal to host “Arab Youth Nile Boat” in Egypt this year, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to organize an Arab Entrepreneurship Encouragement Meeting among young people and the degree of their contribution to the development of the economy of the Arab world in the current year.
The Council thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for hosting the eighth Journey to the Holy Places for Arab Youth this year and also agreed to host the Arab Youth Empowerment Program this year in Saudi Arabia.
The Council of Ministers instructed the technical secretariat of the Council to prepare an Arab Strategy for Youth, Peace and Security between the 45th and 46th Council sessions and to request countries to provide the technical secretariat with their experience to guide the preparation of the strategy.
The Council also welcomed Egypt’s organization and hosting of the Arab Youth Parliament Simulation events in 2022, as well as the establishment of an Arab session on “The role of sport in a healthy lifestyle for individuals” in Jordan this year. and the establishment of an Embassy Football League under the slogan “Arab League Cup” for the current year in Egypt.
The council agreed to launch a youth competition to design a logo for the Arab Council of Ministers of Youth and Sports, based on the logo of the Arab League, and to launch Tarek and Belkis Virtual Arab Youth Envoys.
The Council of Ministers called on the Arab countries to promote and support volunteering and to participate in the activities and events organized by the State of Qatar on the occasion of the organization of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
