The Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Basketball Federation held its fifth meeting yesterday, chaired by Federation President Dr. Ghassan Tashkandi, in the presence of the Board of Directors at the Federation’s headquarters at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex in Riyadh.
During the meeting, the council made a number of decisions, including the following: consideration and approval of the minutes of the fourth meeting of the board of directors, approval of the financial expenses of the federation for the previous period, consideration of the list of players’ conditions. and distributing club contract history and amateur roster, and approving a cub league system for the current year, and reviewing reports on the participation of various national teams during previous participation, and reviewing basketball equipment for the upcoming Saudi Games.
The council also approved the formation of a working committee for the preparations for hosting the 2023 AD Asian Cup qualified U-16 Gulf Championship, agreeing on a contract with the new head coach of the Saudi Arabian basketball team to be announced in the coming days, approving the formation discipline committees, appeals and dispute resolution chambers, as well as approving the establishment of the Investment Committee of the Basketball Federation, headed by Dr. Ryan Cardan, as well as lifting the suspension of Al-Taawun club player Muhammad Al- Tamar and Ali Al-Khudair, satisfied with the last period of ineligibility, and approved the proposal of the Referee Committee to contract Arbitration Expert Mr. Stalios Kokorkides to give occasional lectures to referees, and to approve the formation of two sub-committees in the eastern and western regions.
