Hussein Ali Reda, a member of the Saudi Arabian national rowing team, immortalized his name and the name of Saudi Arabia at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne by gifting him the oars with which he competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games to be included in the exhibits of the International Museum, in which features exhibits of athletes with unique and inspiring backgrounds and stories.
The ceremony took place yesterday, Wednesday, in Lausanne, in an official ceremony as the first Saudi athlete to be honored in the presence of his father, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Rowing Federation, Ali Hussein Ali Red.
The captain of the Saudi Arabian rowing team expressed his pride that he registered his country’s name and his personal name in the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, and said on this occasion: “These oars contain my blood, sweat and tears, and I am happy that they will exhibited next to the sportswear of international and sports personalities.
He added: “I am very proud and grateful for this and would like to thank the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Sports and the Olympic Committee for their unrestricted support from the very beginning of my journey. I hope this will be an inspiration to the Saudi Sports Youth and that they can do what I can do and that they can also do their sporting role better.”
Hossein Alireza is currently preparing for the World Rowing Championships to be held in Serbia in September 2023.
It is worth noting that the Olympic Museum in Lausanne includes many buildings that contain more than 100 thousand sports items belonging to many Olympic sports, making it one of the oldest museums that houses the oldest items and sports equipment.
