Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Welsh winger Gareth Bale will leave the Royal Club when his contract expires next month, praising him as part of the club’s history.
Real Madrid won the Spanish league with four rounds to go and Liverpool will play England in the Champions League final on May 28 in Paris.
Ancelotti said at a press conference: “When the contract expires, he will leave. Bale is part of the club’s history and will be remembered by all Madrid fans.” He added: “He was instrumental in helping Real Madrid win their tenth Champions League title in Kyiv and the Copa del Rey. He wrote important pages in the history of this club, and we must take this into account. Bale has appeared in just seven matches for Real Madrid in all competitions this season, for a total of 290 minutes. Bale won four Champions League titles in nine years at the capital club.
