The Saudi Arabian Football Association celebrated the arrival of the original version of the World Cup in the Kingdom, which represents the final leg of the cup’s world tour before arriving in Qatar, host of the 22nd edition of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. held. The World Cup was held yesterday in the Al Turaif area of historic Diriyah in the presence of Assistant Minister of Sports Abdulaziz Bashen, Deputy Minister of Sports for Sports and Youth Affairs Abdulaziz Al Masaad, Deputy Minister for Strategic Planning and Investment at the ministry. Sports Adwaa Al-Arifi, Secretary General of the Federation of Saudi Arabia Ibrahim Al Qasem and Assistant Secretary General of the Federation Ibrahim Al Kabbah, as well as the star of the Spanish national team, the representative of the International Football Association, player David Villa, in addition to the presence of a number of businessmen, media and athletes.
For his part, Secretary General Ibrahim Al Qasem expressed his satisfaction with the arrival of the original version of the World Cup in Saudi Arabia and that the Kingdom would be its last stop before arriving in Doha, wishing the brotherly State of Qatar to host an exceptional and historic version of the biggest football event in the world. Al-Qasim added: “We are looking forward to seeing the Saudi Arabian team achieve their goals after their sixth participation in the World Cup, which Qatar is hosting for the first time in the Middle East.”
The original version of the World Cup arrived yesterday morning in Jeddah, where it moved from King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah to the King Abdullah City Stadium, and then moved to the Jeddah waterfront to complete the tour at Andalus Mall, from where I went with a delegation of International and Saudi federations and representatives from the Ministry of Sports will travel to Riyadh to participate in the celebration of Diriyah, and today the masses will have the opportunity to take commemorative photographs at the Granada Mall before heading to Dhahran to participate in the celebrations as part of the Tanvin Creativity Season. at the King Abdulaziz Itra Center for World Culture.
The events are part of the FIFA World Cup’s fifth round, which included visits to 51 countries and territories this year, marking another step towards FIFA’s goal of visiting all 211 member states by 2030.
