In Group D at Al Siq Stadium, Egypt beat Syria 5–0 with two goals each from Ayman Abdelaziz and Ahmed Fouad, with Syrian goalkeeper Majd Al Jabbarah scoring by mistake.

In the same group and at Mostaganem Stadium, Saudi Arabia beat Lebanon 6-0 with Talal Haji (3 goals), Farhi Al-Shamrani, Ammar Al-Yahbi and Nawaf Al-Janahi.

With these results, the Egyptian team took the lead of the group with 9 points, followed by the “second” team of Saudi Arabia with 6 points.
