Palestinian sources have confirmed that a Palestinian was killed yesterday by Israeli army bullets during clashes that took place in Jenin in the north of the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian health ministry told AFP that 25-year-old Mohammed Marei “had been shot in the chest.”
The Israeli army said in a statement that “several suspects threw explosive devices at IDF soldiers, who returned fire.”
The incident comes less than a week after the killing of a 16-year-old Palestinian boy by the Israeli army in the northern West Bank city of Saloud.
During these operations, the Israeli army killed at least 48 Palestinians and three Arab Israeli attackers, some of whom were members of armed groups, as well as civilians, including Palestinian journalist Shirin Abu Akle, who was covering the operation in Jenin.
