The Directorate General of Geodetic and Geospatial Information attended the twelfth meeting of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information, held at United Nations Headquarters in New York, United States of America, chaired by the President of the Directorate General, Chairman of the United Nations Arab Committee of Experts United Nations Geospatial Information Management, Dr. Mohammad bin Yahya Al Sayel. During the meeting, a number of issues on the agenda were discussed. It included an integrated geospatial information framework that defines the geospatial information environment of the future, regional committee contributions to the plan related to geospatial information at the global level, a global geodetic reference framework, and the use of geospatial information to achieve sustainable development. goals, as well as the integration of geospatial information and statistical information and other related topics.
It is noteworthy that the body, according to its organization, represents the Kingdom in respect of its powers in coordination and cooperation with its counterparts in other countries and relevant international bodies and organizations.
