The Minister of Sports signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Paralympic Games of Uzbekistan

His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sports, President of the Olympic and Paralympic Committee of Saudi Arabia and Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia, today ended his official visit to the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, to attend the 77th meeting. Executive Office of the Olympic Council of Asia, which was chaired by Raja Randhir Singh, in the presence of His Highness Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, Vice Chairman of the Committee, Member of the Executive Office and Chairman of the Council’s Educational Committee. At the meeting, it was decided to postpone the date of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, which were to be held in China in September this year, to next year due to events related to the coronavirus pandemic, which may also prevent many athletes from participating in the session. The meeting agreed to cancel this year’s Asian Youth Games, which were to be held in Shantou, China.

On the sidelines of his presence in Tashkent, His Highness the President of the Olympic and Paralympic Committee of Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding between the Committee and its Olympic and Paralympic counterparts in Uzbekistan. In order to strengthen cooperation and joint coordination between the Olympic and Paralympic families in the Kingdom and Uzbekistan, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal took part in the official celebration of the Olympic family in Uzbekistan, organized by the Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan in honor of the guests of the Olympic Council of Asia, on the occasion of 30th anniversary of the creation of the Olympic Committee in Uzbekistan, in the presence of a number of Uzbek officials and sports figures.
