The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire and the Republic of Liberia, Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Subaye, received in his office the President of the Islamic Development Bank, Dr. Muhammad bin Suleiman Al-Jasser, after a visit to the President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara.
His Excellency conveyed to the Ambassador the results of this visit and the praise of President Ouattara for the level of support and cooperation with the Islamic Bank, as well as the level of relations and continued support of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire from the Kingdom and its leadership in general, especially projects funded by the Islamic Development Bank Group by supporting government plans for economic development.
Al Jasser indicated that total funding has amounted to US$2.1 billion since 1991 and has included several areas, including roads, agriculture, health care, education, water supply and others.
His Excellency the President of the Islamic Development Bank visited a $260 million urban project in Cocody (North Abidjan) financed by the Bank. Earlier, he also met with the Vice President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Prime Minister, Minister of Planning and other officials.
