The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, presented His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars with the Medal of Honor of Pakistan, one of the most important civilian awards of the Republic, in recognition of his outstanding efforts in spreading the message of peace that Islam calls for and in combating the growing phenomenon of Islamophobia by correcting misconceptions about our true Islamic religion, in addition to his global role in promoting dialogue and harmony among followers of civilizations and religions, through international initiatives and personal visits to various countries of the world, as well as his meetings with various religious leaders of the International.
The medal was presented at an official ceremony held last Monday at the presidential palace in Islamabad, in the presence of a number of Islamic figures, government leaders, members of parliament and the diplomatic corps.
The Pakistan Crescent Medal is one of the most important civilian awards of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and is awarded by the President of the Republic in honor of figures who have made outstanding Islamic and humanitarian contributions.
