The head of justice of the Iranian province of Hormozgan, Mojtaba Gahramani, announced the detention of a foreign ship carrying 125,000 liters of smuggled fuel, thanks to the efforts of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy in the Persian Gulf.
Kahramani explained: “In agreement with the head of the Judicial Department of the city of Parsian, the naval fighters of the Zulfiqar Brigade 412 of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, after discovering a foreign ship with thousands of liters of smuggled fuel in the waters of the Persian Gulf, took the initiative to seize the ship and arrest the smugglers.”
Gahramani pointed out that the aforementioned vessel turned off the lights in violation of the rules and in order to avoid detection, and that this foreign vessel was stopped by the special operations of the Zulfiqar Guard Brigade after the chase, and during its inspection, more than 125 thousand contraband fuel was seized, indicating that 26 the crew members were also arrested. This is an offending ship and they are in custody pending investigation.
And he continued: “After the capture of the aforementioned ship, it was transferred to the port by the operational forces and ships of Major General Zulfikar of the Revolutionary Guards and handed over to the judicial authorities for legal procedures and necessary investigations.”
