The Saudi Sport for All Federation will organize the second edition of the Riyadh International Marathon on Saturday, February 11, 2023 in Riyadh with the support of the Ministry of Sports, the Quality of Life Program and the Saudi Arabian Athletics Federation with the aim of encouraging all members of society to be physically active and participation in sports activities.
The Riyadh Marathon is the first professional full marathon accredited by the International Association of Athletics Federations, where participants will cover 42.2 km, passing through the tourist attractions of the city of Riyadh.
The federation allowed participants to register for several races designed for members of the community: a half-marathon distance was allocated; This is equivalent to a 21.1 km run for runners, a 10 km run for those aged 17 and over, and a 4 km run for beginners and children.
The Sports for All Federation has indicated that registration for the marathon will be available soon through the Riyadh Marathon website or through the Sports for All app, where the version will include the creation of several specialized virtual and field workouts. programs, in addition to digital publications that will be scheduled and announced on the marathon website.
The Federation indicated that on February 10 and 11, 2023 AD. for all visitors and participants of the marathon, a recreation area “Marathon Village” will be allocated, which will host associated sports events, a food and drink area and many other recreational activities. because it is expected to attract attention. The second edition of the Riyadh International Marathon has over 15,000 entrants as the previous edition reached over 10,000 entrants and participation from over 100 countries, with Saudi Arabia reaching about 60% of the total.
