Dutch press reports said that Moroccan Ajax professional Mohamed Ikhtarin had received death threats, causing him to miss his team’s training session. And the Dutch newspaper The Telegraph reported that 20-year-old Ikhtarin was not among the 29 players who went to training in Austria last week.
The newspaper pointed out that the threats received by the player did not come from football fans, pointing out that the case was related to personal matters.
For his part, the Ajax coach visited the player to give him support and assistance, and also gave him time to sort out his affairs before returning to training.
Other details about the people who threatened the player Ikhtarin, and why they did it, are not reported.
The team took the initiative to clarify via Twitter the player’s absence from training, stating that it was not due to a lack of discipline, but rather for personal reasons.
And Ikhtarin was loaned to Ajax Amsterdam from the Italian Juventus, where he scored five goals in four matches with the Dutch team.
Ikhtarin’s loan to Ajax Amsterdam is expected to end in December 2022 amid expectations of the player’s return to the Old Lady team.
