Three soldiers and three children were killed in a suicide attack on a military vehicle in northwestern Pakistan near the border with Afghanistan, the Pakistani army said yesterday.
An attacker detonated his explosive vest as a Pakistani army vehicle drove through a market in Miranshah, North Waziristan, just 25 kilometers from the Afghan border. The Pakistan Army announced that three children aged between 4 and 11 and three soldiers were killed in this “suicide attack”. “The bomber arrived on foot and blew himself up as a security forces vehicle was passing by,” a local official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told AFP.
“Killers of innocent children are the enemies of humanity and Islam,” said Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
