The deputy head of the U.S. parliamentary committee investigating the January 6, 2021 attack on Congressional headquarters said on Monday that former U.S. President Donald Trump’s refusal to immediately intervene to prevent the incident disqualifies him from holding any official position. “Whoever acted in this way at that time cannot again hold any official position in our country,” MP Liz Cheney, vice chair of the committee, said.
