Turkey, the United Nations, Russia and Ukraine sign the Pioneering Grain Corridor Agreement in Istanbul on Friday.
Russia and Ukraine account for Almost a third of global Wheat supply, while Russia also Ukraine exports fertilizers, corn and sunflower oil. But shipments of Ukrainian grain from its ports on the Black Sea have stopped since the invasion of Russia, with About 20 million tons of Grain stuck.
The United Nations has appealed to both countriesas well as its maritime neighbor Turkey, to create a sea lane for Ukrainian export of grain from the Black Sea. Turkey was coordinating with Russia and Ukraine agree to a plan that would resume grain exports from Ukrainian ports.
