Turkish clothing brands shut down stores in Ukraine

like days of tensions quickly escalated in Ukraine after the entry of Russian forces into the country, recent developments have also affected businesses in the country with Turkish Loan-made Clothes stores closing down.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who had massed some 150,000 men on the border in these last months, announced that they launched a special military transaction in Eastern Ukraine with explosions heard early Thursday morning in several cities, including the capital Kyiv and Kharkiv.

Several Turkish brands, namely LC Waikiki, Colin’s and English Home, have closed around 200 stores in the country for security reasons, according to an article in the Turkish business daily Dünya.

Letters have been sent from malls to affected brands regarding the closures, the report notes.

Among the brands with most branches in country, Colin’s has 60 storesLC Waikiki has about 50 and English Home has 33 stores. Meanwhile, brands have suspended their plans for new store openings in the coming period.

LC Waikiki which has stores in KyivChernihiv, Jıtomır, Kharkiv, Lviv, Dnipro, Krivoy Rog, Zaporizhzhia, Odessa and other cities, planned to open 10 more stores in the country by 2023.

Colin’s, meanwhile, started its activities in Ukraine 22 years ago and now son total Sales area is approximately 25,000 square meters (269,098 sq ft). the stores are situated in more more than 30 cities of the country.
