Türkiye and UAE to work closely on promoting economic development
The Speaker of the Federal National Council of UAE, Saqr Ghobash, announced on Monday that Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates will continue to work closely on promoting economic development.
UAE congratulates President Erdoğan on his re-election
Ghobash participated in the swearing-in ceremony of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Saturday and conveyed “the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on his re-election as President of the Republic of Türkiye.”
Importance of Türkiye for UAE
Ghobash told Anadolu Agency (AA), “The Emirati participation in the inauguration ceremony reflects the special position that Türkiye holds for the leadership and people of the UAE.”
UAE’s sincere desire to strengthen relations with Türkiye
Ghobash also confirmed “the UAE’s sincere desire to strengthen relations with Türkiye.” He highlighted the importance of the visits of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Türkiye in November 2021 and President Erdoğan to the UAE in February 2022 in the development of relations between the two countries.
Promoting peace and regional economic development
Ghobash emphasized the important role of the distinguished relation between the two countries in laying the foundations for promoting peace and regional economic development. He also stressed on the need for more dialogue, cooperation, and understanding to enhance trust and multiple viewpoints on issues of common concern.
Opportunities for cooperation
Ghobash pointed out the great opportunity for the two countries to deepen cooperation in the fields of technology, renewable energy, culture, and tourism. He also highlighted the importance of the active Turkish participation in Expo 2020 Dubai in building bridges of cooperation between the two countries.
Parliamentary relations
Ghobash affirmed that parliamentary relations play a pivotal role in strengthening ties between countries. He highlighted the potential for Türkiye and the UAE to develop relations at the parliamentary level by increasing the scope of parliamentary visits and establishing joint action mechanisms.
Regional stability
Ghobash stressed that strong bilateral relations between Türkiye and the UAE represent a cornerstone of regional and international peace and security. He emphasized the need for more communication, integration, and cooperation in various sectors to build a state of interdependence based on common interests among the countries of the region.
