US police arrested a suspect at an Atlanta airport on Monday, ending an hour-long search after two shootings in downtown Georgia left two people dead and a third wounded.
The Atlanta Police Department said it is trying to determine if the suspect targeted the victims or fired indiscriminately.
In response to a report of an evening shooting, police found two people with injuries in a prestigious apartment building near Colony Square, an office and retail complex in downtown Atlanta.
Later, the police said that one of them died, and the second was taken to the hospital.
While at the first location, officers received another call about a shooting at a nearby location, where police found a third victim.
Police said the man was apparently shot dead and later died in hospital.
Officers were investigating a connection between the two sites, and police said initial information indicated the female suspect was responsible for the two incidents.
Before finding the suspect at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta and arresting her, police cordoned off several downtown areas and ordered the residents of some buildings to take cover.
