The Los Angeles Fire Department said two people were killed and five injured in Los Angeles on Sunday following a shooting at an unofficial auto show in the city of San Pedro.
Fire brigade spokesman Brian Humphrey said paramedics took seven people to area hospitals, two of whom, a man and a woman, died from their injuries.
Humphrey added that the victims of the shooting, 4 men and 3 women, were between the ages of 23 and 54, but could not provide any information about the cause of the standoff.
Humphrey noted that the auto show was more of an informal gathering than a formal event.
It’s worth noting that the car dealership is part of Southern California’s auto culture, where classic car owners and others often gather in public places to show off their driving habits.
After the incident, the LAPD issued a general warning to residents, as the attacker was still at large in the city, and some sources said the shooting was linked to gangs.
“There are no other victims at the scene,” the report says, which clarifies that the circumstances of the shooting have not yet been confirmed.
And the authorities sealed off the entire area, and did not allow residents to enter or exit, with the possibility that the perpetrator of the crime is inside the area.
