The Ukrainian authorities submitted to the parliament a draft addressed to the G-20, demanding that Russia be excluded from the group. The text of the draft reads: “The Verkhovna Rada addresses the G20 countries with a proposal to exclude the Russian Federation from the G20.” The document also called on the G-20 to support an extension of the food deal, increased sanctions against Russia, and a “significant increase” in economic, financial and security assistance to Ukraine. Among the initiators of the appeal, the Head of the Rada Ruslan Stevanchuk, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Kornienko, deputies from the Batkievchyna party Olena Kondratyuk and Yulia Tymoshenko, a representative of the Servant of the People Alexander Merezhko, a representative of the Platform for Life and Peace Yuriko Boyko and Irina Gerashchenko from European Solidarity. Sources told the British newspaper that the European Union and the UK will seek to “isolate” and boycott the Russian delegation during the G20 summit in Indonesia. “We are trying to work with partners to very convincingly represent what the international community thinks about Russia’s illegal actions,” a European official was quoted as saying by the Telegraph.
