Yeromchenko reunited with son family on Saturday and was grateful to everyone who helped her daughters aged 5 to 12 and her elderly parents. The girls lived in Kharkov with their grand-parents while Yeromchenko, who has been in Antalya when the war broke out couldn’t come back home.
the mother hugged her daughters when they arrived at the Antalya bus station and handed them toys, seeking to comfort the emotional girls. She told Anadolu Agency (AA) that she arrived in Antalya for vacation on February 18 and found out about the war six days later. “I wanted go back but all flights were canceled and on told us to keep on staying in our hotel here. I heard my house had collapsed and my family remained in shelter. I wanted to bring them, including my father who lives with Alzheimer’s here in Turkey,” she said. family was at a train station when the Turk driver noticed the girls crying as they searched for a way out of the country.
Yeromchenko said they had lost everything and could not leave back. “We will do it begin our lives again but we don’t know how to do it,” she said.
His mother Alexandra said they found themselves taken in crossfire and a attack hit their home who then grabbed fire. “They attacked everywhere, from kindergartens to schools. They did not discriminate against civilians or soldiers. People were fleeing. I never thought that Russia attack civilians. We stayed in a shelter for a long time and a Turk saved us,” she says.
