UN Women and the Turkish Ministry of Justice unveiled a new project on from Wednesday to ensure more access to judicial services for women exposed to domestic violence and violence against women. the project involves workshops for prosecutors specialized on both questions, as well as financial support at victim reception centers of violence.

Domestic violence dominates the agenda in Turkey, with almost one fatal case reported daily in the country. In other cases, women escape with serious injuries. Turkey provides protection for women and severe punishment for authors in most cases, but domestic violence still prevails in the country.

First Lady Emine Erdoğan sent a message to the inauguration ceremony for the project tenuous in the capital Ankara and said domestic violence was unfortunately rampant world. “It is a phenomenon that is not just hurts the victims but the whole society. the government is getting closer with a ‘zero principle of tolerance and does not accept any excuses for violence,” she said. The Turkish Ministry of justice work on a new bill that should increase the penalties.

Erdoğan said the authorities were pursuing a multidisciplinary approach to the issue and hoped they would “produce good results” in tackle the issue. “I wish for a world or women have without restriction access for justice,” she added.

the project aims to strengthen the implementation of Law No. 6284, which affirms all the measures against cases of violence against womenmeasures of prevention and protection prevention detention for authors.
