British authorities intend to allow mourners to say goodbye at the coffin of Queen Elizabeth around the clock, as it falls from Wednesday evening until the beginning of the day of the funeral, and the authorities are preparing for a large turnout.
Hundreds of thousands are expected to say goodbye to Britain’s longest-reigning monarch ahead of her state funeral, scheduled for September 19, which will be attended by world leaders.
As part of this, rail operators said they expected “unprecedented travel demand” in London and advised passengers to prepare to walk the route to their final destination.
For its part, the British Ministry of Culture said that members of the public will be able to view the coffin at Westminster Hall in Parliament 24 hours a day from 17:00 (16:00 GMT) Wednesday 14 September until 06:30 am 19 September.
The ministry added: “Those who wish to attend will have to queue for many hours, possibly all night… A large number of people are expected and it is advisable to check and plan accordingly in advance and prepare for long waiting periods.” .”
