The Croatian team reached the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup by beating their Japanese counterpart 3-1 in a penalty shoot-out, after the end of regular and extra time with a positive 1-1 draw, in the match that took place between them today, at the Al- Janub” in the 1/8 finals. Team Japan edged out Daisen Maeda in the 43rd minute and Ivan Perisic scored the equalizing goal for Croatia in the 55th minute.
With this victory, Croatia advanced to the quarter-finals, where today they will face the winner of the match between Brazil and South Korea.
