During the third week of April 2023, the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Assistance “Masam” project to clear Yemeni lands managed to remove 625 mines laid by the Houthi militia in various regions of Yemen, including 20 anti-personnel mines, 180 anti-tank mines and 420 mines , unexploded ordnance and 5 explosive devices. The Masam team cleared 8 anti-personnel mines, 91 anti-tank mines, 209 unexploded ordnance and 4 explosive devices in Aden Governorate, and cleared 12 anti-personnel mines, 89 anti-tank mines and 211 unexploded ordnance. One IED and one IED in Marib Governorate, bringing the number of mines cleared during the month of April to date to 2,223, and the number of mines cleared since the start of the Masam project to 395,245 mines laid indiscriminately by militia- Houthis throughout Yemen to collect more innocent victims among children, women and the elderly.
