Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak reaffirmed that hosting an Arab summit in Algiers is important for Yemen, which is witnessing renewed military escalation, after the United Nations truce expired in early October without reaching an agreement. to extend it. Ibn Mubarak said during talks with his Algerian counterpart Ramtan Amamra in the Algerian capital, according to the Yemeni state news agency Saba, that “the terrorist attack by the Houthis on the oil ports of Radhum and Al-Daba sends clear signals about their nature and the real threat they pose for energy sources and international shipping lines”. He added that “the convening of an Arab summit in Algiers is of great importance in countering the aggression and violations practiced by the Houthis in order to destabilize security and stability in the region.” The discussions concerned the organization of the convening of a joint ministerial committee, the last of which took place in 2010, the possibility of increasing scholarships offered to Yemen in various academic disciplines, cooperation in the field of training and advanced training of Yemeni diplomatic personnel, as well as the activation of the protocol on consular cooperation between the two countries, which contributes to facilitating the entry of Yemenis into Algeria.
