The Yemeni government welcomed the announcement by UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg to extend the truce for two additional months, as per the previous paragraphs, until 2 October 2022 AD, which was made after consultation with the government and its approval.
The official Yemeni news agency (Saba) reported that the Yemeni government reminds that the main goal of the truce is to stop the shedding of Yemeni blood due to the war unleashed by the Houthi terrorist militia and to facilitate the free movement of civilians and the movement of goods, humanitarian and commercial services throughout Yemen , which was achieved in connection with facilitating the movement of civilians. The Yemeni government stressed the need to fully implement the terms of the truce, stop all violations of the Houthis, do what has not been done in the past period, immediately begin lifting the barbaric siege of the city of Taiz, and ensure that the proceeds of the Port of Hodeidah are used to pay the salaries of civil servants and pensioners in areas that are still under the control of the Houthi militia.
In this regard, he expressed his strong support for the efforts of the United Nations and its Special Envoy towards achieving a comprehensive and just peace in accordance with the three agreed terms of reference, the main one being International Resolution 2216.
