Yemeni Information Minister Muammar Al-Eryani on Monday accused the Houthi group of using agreements and truces to mobilize resources and capabilities to wage war, undermine peaceful opportunities and increase the humanitarian burden on citizens.
Al-Eryani said on Twitter that the international community’s continued approach of turning a blind eye to the Houthis and making concessions is not pushing the group towards calm and peace.
He warned that the Houthis “continue to pose a threat to international shipping and energy security”, calling on the international community to reconsider and take strong action against it, classifying it as a “terrorist group”, banning the travel of its leaders and freezing its assets.
Al-Eryani added that the international community must make a choice between supporting Yemen’s security and stability and the interests of its people or a group “controlled by Tehran.”
Earlier, Rashad Al-Alimi, chairman of the Yemeni Leadership Council, on Monday blamed the Houthis for not extending the truce and its serious implications for Yemen’s security and stability.

Meanwhile, a source in the Yemeni government considered the misconceptions and actions of the Houthi militias as evidence of a breakdown in the truce, pointing out that the Houthi militias have plundered sums in excess of 60 billion rials since the Hodeidah agreement was struck in 2019.
Yemeni Prime Minister Main Abdul-Malik called on the international community to take a firm and clear stand in condemning the Houthi militias obstructing peace efforts in the country, a day after the Iranian-backed militias announced their rejection of the UN proposal. expand and extend the humanitarian truce that expired last night.
The Yemeni Prime Minister wrote in a series of tweets on his Twitter page: “Appeasement does not increase the chances of peace, it only pushes the Houthis to be more intransigent.”
“We have heard the clear voice of the international community in its call for peace and we have responded to that call in all sincerity and sincerity and we are waiting today to hear the same strength and clarity in condemning the obstruction by the Houthis and their rejection of peace. “, he added.
