The Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council reaffirmed its commitment to the United Nations-sponsored humanitarian truce, which came into effect in early April for a period of two months.
The Yemeni Presidential Council, at a meeting held in the temporary capital of Aden on Friday evening, accused the Houthi militias of committing continuous violations of the truce and considered it “increasing the reluctance of the Houthi militias to achieve peace.”
The Presidential Leadership Council reaffirmed its constant desire for peace as the only way to avoid bloodshed.
He pointed to the intransigence and arrogance of the Houthi revolutionaries, who do not care about the suffering of the Yemeni people.
According to a statement released at the meeting, the presidential leadership council, headed by Rashad al-Alimi, discussed current developments and issues in the national arena, in addition to military and security concerns.
The Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Council emphasized that the current stage requires the concerted efforts of all, official and popular, on the basis of consensus and partnership to build the state and solve all problems, especially economic ones, and stressed the need to translate the priorities that he presented to the parliament on the ground, especially in regard to life and the economic situation, and to give the provisional capital of Aden a greater interest in achieving development and stability.
