The sixth high-level meeting of the heads of constitutional courts, supreme courts and constitutional councils of African countries, organized by the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt, began today with the participation of 40 African countries, represented by 51 heads of the Constitutional Court. , the Constitutional Council and the Supreme Court.
The three-day meeting will discuss a number of topics, including constitutional protection of the principle of citizenship, constitutional protection of the rights of immigrants and refugees, constitutional guarantees for the development of natural resources, the role of constitutional oversight in protecting cultural privacy, in addition to social justice from an economic point of view, and the role of the constitutional judiciary in protecting the integrity of society and its cohesion.
The meeting aims to strengthen judicial, legal and constitutional cooperation among African countries.
