At least five mortar shells fell today near the US embassy in the Green Zone in the center of the Iraqi capital.
An Iraqi security source said in a press statement that the US embassy activated sirens inside the building as a result of shells falling near the surrounding area.
The source did not report casualties or property damage, while the parties behind the attack were not disclosed.
