TV presenters in Afghanistan have appeared wearing black face masks while presenting their programs in support of their female counterparts, who have been ordered by the Taliban to cover their faces.
The Taliban authorities decided to cover their faces during broadcasts after the imposed conditions were limited to wearing the hijab.
The Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice said the decision was final and non-negotiable.
Solidarity activists said they would continue to protest until the Taliban reconsider their decision.
