His Excellency Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Engineer Waleed bin Abdul Karim Al-Khereiji, today participated in the Jerusalem High-Level Conference entitled “Resilience and Development”, which was held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo. Your Excellency, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs delivered the Kingdom’s speech at the conference, in which he reaffirmed that the Kingdom’s position supports accelerating the search for a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian question in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with its capital in East Jerusalem.
His Excellency renewed the Kingdom’s condemnation of all unilateral Israeli measures that undermine the two-state solution, citing the Kingdom’s call for its immediate and complete end.
And he pointed out that the Kingdom spares no effort to support the State of Palestine and the Palestinian people in various humanitarian, economic and political fields to restore their legitimate rights, as the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – on At the Jerusalem Summit held in Dhahran in March 2019 AD, it was announced that the Kingdom had donated the amount of (150) million dollars to the Jerusalem Islamic Giving Support Program.
His Excellency explained that the Kingdom’s contribution to the Al-Aqsa and Al-Quds Funds, which are managed by the Islamic Development Bank, amounted to a total of (390) million dollars, and the Kingdom continues to support the brothers in Palestine through international organizations and related agencies, including the Palestine Refugee Relief and Works Agency, noting that the Kingdom is one of the first countries to support the agency as the total support provided to the agency has exceeded $1.1 billion and the Kingdom has supported many development projects for Palestinian refugees in various areas, including health, education, social services and relief, through UNRWA and through the King Salman Relief Centre, humanitarian action and the Saudi Development Fund.
His Excellency the Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated his call on the Kingdom to stop the Israeli occupying forces from storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque, closing its gates and attacking unarmed worshipers in and outside its squares, in addition to the provocative actions carried out by the Israeli official storming the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque .
His Excellency described the violations by the Israeli occupying forces as a systematic escalation and blatant attack on the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling on the international community to assume its role and hold the Israeli occupying forces fully responsible for the consequences of the continuation of such crimes and attacks on the defenseless Palestinian people, its land and shrines, and for undermining the chances of reviving the peace process in the Middle East.
